Street to Studio: Transitioning Practice

This open call is for Graffiti/Street Artists, Tattoo, Low-brow/Pop Surrealists, or any other artist looking to transition their art practice to or (in)between commercial/institutional/pop-up
spaces and places.
This six week intensive residency, guided out of YYC/LRT (a decommissioned C-Train located downtown Calgary) will result in a group exhibition of works created during this residency at Contemporary Calgary.

THE DETAILS:
Participants will learn new art making techniques involving photo transfers, printmaking, drawing, aerosol, automated stencils/vinyl, mold-making and assemblage thereof.
Bio’s, C.V’s, Grants & Exhibition Applications, and Artwork Documentation will be addressed along with one-on-one assessments for each artist.
All materials provided free of charge as is instruction, guidance and mentorship.
Dates:
Workshop runs every Monday & Wednesday from April 3-May 13 6pm-9pm / open studio time every Saturday 1pm-4pm

(C.V, BIO and ARTIST STATEMENT will be accepted, but not necessary to apply)
